About Us
A 1942 jeep sits proudly in the main entrance, as a tribute to an unheralded West Virginia veteran, who was awarded a Bronze Star for his efforts transporting a wounded soldier and equipment through German encampments during the Battle of the Bulge in December of 1944.
Another hero that the museum honors, is Bluefield native Congressional Medal of Honor receipient Staff Sgt. James Junior Spurrier, who killed 25 and captured 20 Germans during his singled handed liberation of Achain, France.
There are tons of stories connected to thousands of artifacts on display at the Those Who Served War Museum in Princeton, West Virginia. The amount of history that is preserved and displayed at this museum is simply incredible.
Living history is also a major part of the museum. Director W.A. Bill Wolfe Jr., who serves as a guide each Tuesday, delivers first hand reflections on the VJ Day landing at Tarawa. Veterans from World War II, Korea, and Vietnam are among the museum volunteers.
