The Prairie Players' Community Theatre was founded in 1998, and has staged 33 highly successful productions in its nine season existence. The theatre works in association with the City of Long Prairie, The Revitalization Group, The Long Prairie Tourism Board, The Economic Development Authority, The Chamber of Commerce, and the Long Prairie-Grey Eagle Schools. The realization of high-quality productions has promoted rapid growth in our attendance and has heightened theatre awareness in a six-county area. Growing local participation and support continues to prove The Prairie Players to be a viable artistic and economic entity to Long Prairie. Our goals include continued growth with our in-house productions; to augment our regular theatrical season by bringing in professional performers to Long Prairie for special events; and, to assist in the expansion of cultural knowledge for those interested in all the arts. We wish to make the theatre and its inherent disciplines a vital thread in the quality-of-life fabric for all families in surrounding areas as well as our own.
