About Us:
Jorgensen first opened its doors on December 6, 1955, when its inaugural concert featured the Boston Symphony Orchestra with Conductor Charles Munch. It quickly sold out. In a review of Jorgensen’s opening night, The Hartford Courant wrote, “Something magnificent was born in Storrs”, which appeared in the paper the next day.
Jorgensen Circle of Friends :
Bringing the world’s greatest performing artists to eastern New England is a worthy, but costly, undertaking. In order to fulfill Jorgensen’s mission of excellence, while keeping tickets affordable, it relies on donations and the membership contributions of Jorgensen’s Circle of Friends.
