Art Spirit Foundation and Bernhard Gallery

281 Pequot Avenue
Southport, CT 06890

203-256-2787

Art Spirit was conceived and created by Dianne B. Bernhard to promote the arts, illustrate how art enhances the lives of all people, and provide insight into art as a life-changing force. Art Spirit reminds us of the importance art plays in the evolution of humanity through the support and nurturing of accomplished living artists. It aspires to elevate society’s perspective of art and transform the way artists view themselves by presenting not only their work, but the artists’ character as well. The mission of Art Spirit is to enrich lives through art.

Bernhard Gallery

Art Spirit Foundation is located in the quaint historic village of Southport, Connecticut and is home to the Bernhard Gallery. The complex also features offices, a large studio appropriate for demonstrations and lectures, a workshop (known as the Angel Workshop), and even an elegant terrraced garden. The entire facility boasts a Neo-Classical Italian architectural style and showcases numerous works of art and antiques. Even the floor of the gallery is assembled from antique limestone and yet it features such modern amenities as state-of-the-art halogen museum lighting. The gallery also houses a miniature stage equipped with theeatrical lighting for the purpose of displaying three-dimensional works such as handcrafted dolls or accommodating intimate performances. The prize of the Bernhard Gallery is the Margulies Collection.
