About us:
Amelia Community Theatre is a volunteer, not for profit corporation, chartered by the State of Florida. Auditions and participation are open to all.
We were founded in May of 1981, with eighty-one Charter Members. We currently have over five hundred Season Ticket subscribers; and are in the middle of a Building Campaign to fund a new theatre! Amelia Community Theatre has always enjoyed strong community support and loyal audiences. Over the years, we've gained a reputation for quality entertainment. The Jacksonville press heralds A.C.T.'s efforts as theatre with a "High degree of professionalism" (The News-Leader); and, "Community theatre the way it was meant to be" (The Times Union.)
Productions at A.C.T. include four Main Stage productions (included in the Season Ticket subscription) plus Readers' Theatre, 4-H/ACT Teen Theatre, the Peppermint Players (a touring troupe that performs free shows for children,) Children's Workshops, Melodrama/Vaudeville, and Armchair Actors. Please visit the "History of Shows" page for a complete listing of A.C.T.'s past productions.
Amelia Community Theatre is located in Fernandina Beach, on Amelia Island, Florida. The address is 209 Cedar Street, Fernandina Beach, Florida 32034. (Click here for a map & driving directions) From Centre Street, the heart of Fernandina's Historic District, turn left onto Third Street and go just three short blocks to find us - within easy walking distance of the Harbor Marina. Our immediate neighbor is the Amelia Island Museum, and together we form a strong corner of creativity and culture.
