What Better Time to Begin your AARP Volunteer Journey than National Volunteer Month!

Posted on 04/10/25

April is National Volunteer Month. AARP Delaware celebrates the incredible Delawareans whose selfless service strengthens communities nationwide. Their dedication leaves a lasting impact, and for that, we are deeply grateful.

If you would like to use your lifetime of skills and experiences to help make our communities better, AARP Delaware is ready for you! Your AARP state office has opportunities where you can make life better for all by sharing information and working to make our communities more livable.

Here are some important roles where you can make a difference:

AARP Delaware Speaker’s Bureau – Throughout the year, AARP delivers presentations to communities on topics that include preventing fraud, caregiving, social security and more.

AARP Delaware News Hounds – These dynamic volunteers pitch stories to the media, take photographs at events and help create videos and content for Facebook.

The First State Action Team – These advocacy volunteers meet with lawmakers, attend committee hearings, deliver testimony at Legislative Hall and more.
