Protect Medicaid Expansion and Keep Health Care Affordable in Idaho

Posted on 02/12/25

Tell your representative HB 138 will hurt vulnerable Idahoans.

Medicaid expansion and affordable health care are at risk. Recently introduced House Bill 138 will place harmful restrictions on lower income Idahoans, create more government bureaucracy and ultimately cost taxpayers more. Make no mistake, it will repeal Medicaid expansion. If this happens thousands of Idahoans will not receive the crucial health care they need while making health care less affordable for everyone.

It also flies in the face of what Idaho voters said in 2018 when Medicaid expansion passed into law with bi-partisan support and 61% of the vote. It's even more popular now with recent polling showing 73% of Idaho voters do not support repeal because it is helping low-income Idahoans get the affordable healthcare they need.

HB 138 is an unnecessary and costly end run around the will of Idaho voters that hurts Idaho families.
