Delaware EARNS will allow tens of thousands of Delaware workers to save for the future all at no cost to employers. Private sector employers with 5 or more Delaware workers and no retirement plan will be required to facilitate EARNS.

AARP Delaware Hosted a Group of Business Leaders from around the State of Delaware in June to learn more about the program, in particular how it can help businesses attract and retain top talent. This easy-to-implement program benefits workers at no cost to the employer. Representatives from the Delaware State Chamber of Commerce, the Delaware Restaurant Association, the United Way and other Chambers statewide attended to learn more and have their questions answered.

Giving employees a simple way to save for retirement will mean fewer Delaware residents need to rely on public assistance later in life, saving taxpayer dollars. In fact, Delaware could save taxpayers as much as $18.2 million.
