  • HomeFit: Making your home accessible and universal

July 31, 2024, 1-2 p.m. CT
Registration Link: https://local.aarp.org/aarp-event/virtual-aarp-tx-homefit-dallas-tx-073124-fpn2g9fknjn.html

We all know “there’s no place like home,” especially as we age. AARP surveys consistently find that older adults want to remain in their homes and communities for as long as possible. Yet barely one percent of the nation’s housing supply has any “universal design” elements—like a sink that’s accessible from a wheelchair—that make it easier to stay in your home as you age.

That’s where AARP HomeFit comes in. Based on the free AARP HomeFit Guide (available at aarp.org/yourhome), this virtual presentation can help individuals and families make their current or future residence–or that of a loved one–their “lifelong home.”
