After attending the training, participants will take part in a community walk audit at the intersection of Deerfield Road and State Farm Road in Boone. This location has been selected due to ongoing concerns about pedestrian safety and traffic confusion, particularly near intersections and crossings. The audit will help identify barriers to safe walking, especially for older adults and college students, and will provide valuable insights to inform future improvements. The intergenerational approach ensures diverse perspectives and fosters community collaboration.
