In this series, “The Three B’s of Music,” award-winning musician Barry Wiesenfeld explores the backgrounds and contributions of the Beatles, Beethoven and Bach and their influence on later musicians and composers.
The first session, on The Beatles, examines how those five guys (yes, five!) took popular music that came before them and, like Bach and Beethoven, changed the world and lives. We’ll also examine how music supports brain health.
The second session on Beethoven, examines how Ludwig mastered the musical world, invited everyone to follow him, and transformed the Classical era into the Romantic era. He lived a tragic life, but he gave us gifts we treasure and his music’s emotion is unrivaled. We’ll also emphasize the benefits of music and brain health.
The final session on Bach recognizes that Johann Sebastian Bach wrote the book on how music works. He outlined the concepts of music theory that still guide us today, and his works are magnificent. We'll also explore the positive effects that music has on brain health.
