Join AARP Colorado for Walk #2 of 15 along the High Line Canal. Enjoy healthy living by participating in one or all of the walks.
Join AARP Colorado for our summer walking series, Walk for Wellness – the High Line Canal. Our goal is to walk the 71 miles of the High Line Canal Trail in 15 sessions, starting at Segment 27 (northernmost point of the trail) in April and finishing at Segment 1 (southernmost point of the trail) in September.
You can participate in one or all sessions. You will need to register separately for each session you wish to walk with us. Each session will have a different starting and ending point and will vary in miles. Led by AARP volunteers, this will be a great way to meet new friends and get your body moving at the same time! Friendly dogs on leash are welcome!

Most of the walks are point-to-point and will require carpooling. To hike the High Line Canal Trail in 5-8 mile sections, you’ll need to either park a car at both ends or arrange other transportation such as a Lyft. Public transit is not a consistent option, although there are some trailheads and trail ends that are on transit, but not all of them.
AARP Colorado is committed to promoting healthy living and active lifestyles for people aged 50 and better. We celebrate physical and mental well-being, encouraging community engagement and active participation. This walking series can be a great way to stay fit, enjoy nature, and connect with others in your community. You don’t have to be an AARP member to join the walks.
Register here for Walk #2: Sunday, May 4th starting at 10 a.m. and covering Segments 25 & 24 (Note: We are walking the Trail in reverse order.) We will start at Green Valley Ranch East Park and end at Triple Creek Trailhead. This is expected to be approximately 4.9 miles.
