Build the strength and confidence you need to transition from the floor to standing and move more freely in this workshop blending qigong with other exercises.
About the Event
Have you found yourself hesitating before getting down on the floor and wondering how (or if!) you’ll get back up again? Getting down on the floor and back up safely is key to staying independent and active as we age.
Join our workshop for help. Led by Nate Guadagni, a senior fitness expert with nearly 20 years of experience working with older adults, it blends qigong with proven senior fitness techniques. You’ll enjoy:
- Gentle strength-building exercises to support knees, hips and core
- Simple qigong movements that improve balance, flexibility and confidence
- Step-by-step guidance on getting down and up safely
- Tips on when NOT to get up after a fall — and steps to take instead
- Tools to help you prevent falls and build strength
Please wear comfortable clothes, use a soft surface like carpet or a yoga mat, and have two sturdy chairs on hand. And please consult your physician before beginning any new exercise regimen.
