Find out how to protect yourself from scammers when shopping. One tactic: ghost tapping to charge your credit cards or steal from your mobile wallet wirelessly.
About the Event
Have you or someone you know been contacted by a scammer or been a target of fraud? Do you have questions about steps to take to stay safe? Are you willing to share your story?
Stop in for our next virtual scam prevention discussion, Fraud Watch with Phil and Pam. Our focus will be how to spot and protect yourself against “ghost tapping” and other shopping scams. Ghost tapping scammers take advantage of card-tapping technology to steal from your card or mobile wallet wirelessly by getting close to you. We want to address your questions and hear your ideas and stories, too.
Phil Chin is an AARP volunteer who leads AARP Fraud Watch Network efforts in Maine, and Pam Partridge leads the AARP Maine volunteer speakers bureau.
