Ziegler Winery History:
Our property was purchased in 2015 with the dream of owning our own Vineyard and winery on a large scale. Established along the east shores of Lake Winnebago, we are located within the Wisconsin Ledge AVA, a region where the area’s temperate climate rivals that of some of the best wine-growing regions on earth.
The vineyard has grown to almost 7000 vines on approximately 12 acres. We currently grow eleven All New World Northern hardy hybrids. These are the only type of grapes that can withstand the frigid cold Wisconsin winters. All our vines were planted by hand with the help of wonderful family and friends.
In fall of 2018 we started our first vintage. Just over 6000 gallons (31,000 bottles) of wines were produced. All wines are hand crafted and made in small batches so the attention to detail is second to none. From start to finish 100% of the process is done on site.
To preserve our rich Wisconsin history, we have used reclaimed barn board and silo stone from a local farm down the road as design elements inside the tasting room and store. The tasting bar is made of red wood reclaimed from pickle barrels. We offer a large tasting room with two upper mezzanine levels – one side with upper fireplace, two larger lower levels for seating with a fireplace, an outdoor enclosed patio and a second patio with a stage area for bands in the spring and summer. We also carry four craft beer offerings from Plymouth Brewing Company and have a small appetizer/pairing menu.
