History:
Woodbine Golf Course was designed by PGA golf professional, Gordon Cunningham. Midwest Irrigation of East Dubuque, Illinois did the course construction and irrigation. Construction began in April of 1987. All tees, greens, and fairways are fully watered bent grass. Our first day of play was June 4, 1988.
The course was designed for the average golfer, one who struggles to break 100 or 90. These golfers do not enjoy overly challenging courses on a regular basis. Most desire excellent golfing conditions along with a reasonable challenge. This is how Woodbine is designed.
Riverbend Timber Framing of Blissfield, Michigan, designed our clubhouse. This structure was assembled similar to early 1900′s barns. There are no nails- only wooden pegs locking the solid white oak timbers together. This type of structure was selected because of its open look and rustic, casual appearance.
The business philosophy at Woodbine is to guarantee that our customers receive on time reservations, superior golf conditions, excellent and friendly service, as well as quality food and drink at an affordable price. Missing are the expensive trappings of some courses. Always present are the elements of quality and service.
