The park serves as a put-in point on this north-flowing Class I stream, typically floatable from March to mid-June depending on rainfall, and is an outfitter and shuttle service for War Eagle Creek. A day of floating or fishing on these gentle waters is relaxation at its best. The park features 29 Class AAA and 10 walk-in campsites, plus three hiking trails. A unique flower, the rare Ozark trillium, grows here. Outdoor fun also includes tennis courts, baseball and softball fields, picnic areas, a pavilion, and gift shop.
Camping- The park has 29 campsites with water, sewer, and electrical hookups and 10 walk-in primitive campsites.They are in close proximity to a climate controlled modern bathhouse. A dump station is located nearby.
Picnicking- Located alongside the rippling waters of a rock-strewn creek, the park’s tree-shaded picnic areas have tables, grills and water. The Keith Ham pavilion is available for rent for group outings or family get-togethers.
Swimming- A large pool with a modern bathhouse offers enjoyment for the entire family. Open: Memorial Day to mid-August; Labor Day Weekend.
Kayak/Canoe Rental Service- Canoes and kayaks with life jackets and paddles may be rented at the visitor center for floating on War Eagle Creek. (Canoe rental fees include put-in and haul-back service). Please call in advance to check on river conditions and rental availability
Other Facilities- A variety of activities are available at Withrow Springs State Park. Visitors may spend a pleasant day hiking one of three trails which wander through park natural areas (trail brochure available at the visitor center). Sporting enthusiasts may fish the War Eagle or play a set of tennis on one of four hardsurfaced courts. Three baseball fields, near the tennis courts, are ready for impromptu games of softball or for organized group games (must bring own equipment).
