Wilklow Orchards

The family has been farming this spot for 6 generations, but we started changing things up in 1981.  We put some wood crates in our front lawn and called it a roadstand.   When someone would stop by we would run out and pick their order of corn for them on the spot.  In 1984 we started bringing our produce to the City to sell through Greenmarket.  This was the beginning of us becoming a direct market farm.  Now we sell at 5 different locations in NYC on 5 days of the week. Wilklow Orchards, LLC. has Pick Your Own every Fall, and at Arlington Market every Summer.

In the beginning we were a wholesale farm that was just too small to compete.  When we started doing farmers markets we needed to diversify.  We needed things to sell in the winter.  We stared making baked goods, jams, cider, and growing many more crops.  Soon we stared raising our own meat. Wilklow Orchards, LLC branched out and brought in our whole family to help!
