Opened in August of 2002 by two local women, Lori Karlsson and Maya Elisayeff, Whimsy represents the realization of their dreams and visions. Seeing a need for more family-oriented activities, Lori and Maya combined their creative talents, marketing and retail backgrounds and topped it off with their experience as moms. As a result, Whimsy offers a one-of-a kind creative environment that inspires imaginations and offers a back-to-basics form of entertainment that can be enjoyed by all members of the family.

At Whimsy, customer service and the nurturing of creativity and spirit are key priorities. Every detail - from the size of the space, to the types of projects, to the snack bar and the retail shop - was designed to answer a specific question, meet a specific need. Is there enough space so people don't feel trapped? Are there options for siblings of varying ages? Are there options for boys as well as girls? Are the projects creative as well as functional? As moms, what other amenities would make our lives easier? How do we want our kids to be treated? How do we want to be treated?

We believe that the best businesses are works in progress. At Whimsy, we are always looking for ways to improve, projects to add, services to offer.
