Wanderlust Brewing Company

About Us:

We are a small microbrewery located in the high country of Arizona. Some say that Wanderlust is one of the new wave of 'nanobreweries' popping up across the country. I just say 'brewery', and then move on with my business.

I use the term 'we' very loosely. Wanderlust Brewing is really a one-man show, and that man is me, Nathan Friedman. 

I homebrewed for about 7 years before finally following the dream of something bigger. I spent a lot of time during those 7 years developing recipes, honing in the process, and learning the science behind making great beer. After enough poking and prodding from friends and family, I sat down and decided to take a go at making the brewery dream a reality. A 3 barrel brewhouse was purchased, a space rented, and this great journey began.

The name Wanderlust comes from my desire to always explore the world around me.  I love to try new things, and strive to create something different with this endeavor as well. I love the challenge of something new, and the meticulous nature of perfecting that creation.

The name Wanderlust also refers to my love of traveling, near and far. I've traveled across several continents, and almost every state in the US. Most of this time was spent with a set of skis, a mountain bike, a kayak, a climbing rope, or a pair of hiking boots in tow. All along these journeys I've gained an appreciation for the people in this world and their experiences they have to share. Those experiences are what make this journey enjoyable, and make the memories that go along with them. Some of the beers I brew evoke those memories, and in turn, the people I made them with. From the lagers of the northeast, to the hop bombs of the west coast; from the Belgian sours, to the German lagers. They all have their nuances and subtleties, and they all have a story. I hope to share some of those stories with you through my beers and my ramblings.
