The Buckeye Area features a 3-acre dog park for large dogs (20 pounds and over), with a fenced doggie swimming pond, and a separate 1-acre dog park for smaller dogs. There is a play area for kids and a picnic shelter with two large grills. The shelter accommodates up to 50 people. There are also separate picnic areas in the playground area, each with one picnic table and a small grill. The 2-mile Buckeye Trail loops through stands of nursery trees, including serviceberry, crab apple and red maple trees. It also runs alongside Walnut Creek, with stands of buckeye trees.
The Tall Pines Area features a picnic area with a grill and three picnic tables, The 2.6-mile Sweetgum Trail is paved, with some gravel areas, and winds through the beautiful scenery of large stands of sweetgum trees and pine trees.
Leashed pets are allowed on the Sweetgum and Buckeye trails-a dog bag dispenser with bags and a small waste container are provided. The park operates a Carry In - Carry Out program to help conserve natural resources. Visitors are given bags and asked to take their trash home, helping to reduce, reuse and recycle.
