About
The Vista Verde golf course opened in 2004 in Rio Verde AZ, nestled in the Sonoran Desert just east of Scottsdale. Bordering the Tonto National Forest, Vista Verde golf course with it’s gently rolling terrain and breathing taking views of the Four Peaks and the Mazatzal Mountains make the course an unadorned jewel of the desert.
Designed by Ken Kavanaugh, this contoured cactus-strewn layout adorned with Mesquite and Palo Verde trees and eye catching mountain views is a course playable by all skill level players. Kenneth M. Kavanaugh, Golf Course Designer, has earned multiple awards and recognition for his designs in Texas, Missouri, Illinois, Colorado and Arizona. Ken’s goal is to create a golf course that will challenge the low handicap player, while still giving the average golfer a pleasant golf experience. With no particular design style mandated, Ken prefers to let the terrain dictate the characteristics of each given project, providing for it’s own persona. With that in mind, Ken has succeeded in his design and evolution of Vista Verde Golf Club.
Vista Verde Golf Club features a 40-tee practice range with tees on both ends of the range. Multiple target greens give one the precision practice to hone their short or long game. A practice putting green with chipping area rounds out our practice facility. The Vista Verde Learning Center is located at the south end of the practice range and is headed by PGA professionals.
The clubhouse and grill plans are on the drafting board and are scheduled to start in the near future. Plans for Vista Verde Golf Club to expand to a 27-hole facility are in development and will be implemented when time dictates.
