Tyrol Basin Ski and Snowboard Area provides family-friendly outdoor winter fun by offering skiing and boarding for people of all ages and abilities. Located just 5 miles north of Mount Horeb, Wisconsin and 20 minutes from Madison, Tyrol's 17 tree-lined slopes extend over 40 acres on the 300-foot vertical hill. Easy access to the slopes is provided by three triple chairlifts, two rope tows, and a handle tow. Freestyle skiers and snowboarders have plenty of room to ride and ski in any of five terrain parks designed for beginners to advanced skiers and boarders, or in one of the few half-pipes in the Midwest. For three consecutive years, Transworld Snowboarding Magazine readers have voted Tyrol Basin to have one of the top 3 terrain parks in the Midwest! While retaining a quaint country resort atmosphere, Tyrol has proven to be a popular destination for boarders and skiers from around the country and host many of the area's most anticipated snowboarding and skiing events.
The "Chalet" is a renovated barn that has been on the property since the early 1900's and offers a comfortable, relaxed atmosphere in the Double Diamond Bar and the Tyrol Café. Try one of our famous Bloody Marys or experience real "home cooking" with selections from the Café. The Snowthings gift shop provides customers with an opportunity to purchase items ranging from ski and snowboard apparel to souvenirs and including all of the "I forgot it" items one would need for a great day on the slopes.
Tyrol Basin's Ski School offers lessons for all ages. Beginner lessons are available for older children and adults daily. Children's ski/snowboard class is offered weekends and specific designated days during the season, and includes lesson, lift ticket and rental. Even the most expert skier/snowboarder can benefit from private lessons that allow you to learn at your own speed and skill level.
Tyrol Basin is dedicated to providing quality snow conditions and terrain and creating opportunities to challenge customers through racing and special events. Staff is committed to excellent customer service and welcoming all to be a part of the Tyrol "Family." Come and spend the day with family or friends at Tyrol Basin Ski and Snowboard Area where "Fun is an Attitude!"
