Mission:
The primary purpose of the Philharmonia Orchestra of Tucson (Tucson Philharmonia Youth Orchestra) is to provide the finest quality symphonic training and performance opportunities for young musicians in a professional environment that promotes advanced musical education, performance competition and responsibility through the presentation of high-quality symphonic concerts to the general public.
The Philharmonia actively pursues the finest musicianship, and welcomes socioeconomic cultural and ethnic diversity, recognizing that in diversity is strength. The Orchestra exists for the benefit of young musicians, responds to their needs, and keeps their interests in musical education paramount to all other considerations.
The Philharmonia Orchestra is focused on four main areas: educating its young musicians to play at a professional level utilizing experienced professional musicians as teachers and mentors who nurture the development of personal artistic expression and creative skills. protecting its current members and their musical interests and working to ensure continued opportunities in symphonic music for future members. advocating for all young musicians and for artistic excellence in the performing arts and working to maintain high artistic standards for future generations. entertaining the public with high-caliber performances of musical masterworks.
