Torn Label Brewing Company is the culmination of a lifelong dream for a group of beer lovers from the Kansas City area. The company was founded in 2014 by Rafi Chaudry, Travis Moore, Carol Troutwine and Chad Troutwine. Its operators carry with them the cumulative influence of time within the diverse craft beer scenes of Southern California, Chicago, Belgium and beyond, but remain dedicated to filtering those experiences through a midwestern sensibility that values both approachability and experimentation.

At Torn Label Brewing Company, our vision is to make challenging, adventurous beer. We set out to create brews that entice craft beer novices and aficionados alike towards fresh and exciting avenues. For us, it's about embracing the creativity that has set this industry apart and continuing to move it forward while consistently delivering well-crafted beer.  Although brewing is nearly always anchored in classic English, German and Belgian traditions, we intend to foster the spirit of innovation that has set American craft apart in the past decade.

Our facilities are located in the southern section of the Studios Inc building in downtown KC's Crossroads neighborhood. Studios Inc is a nonprofit artists workspace and exhibition center, supporting and developing the city's burgeoning creative community. While TLBC is not affiliated with Studios Inc, the creative energy and independent spirit of the artists and residents of Studios Inc represents precisely the timbre we hope to cultivate in the offerings and the identity of our brewery.

Torn Label utilizes brand new stainless steel brewing equipment producing fifteen barrels per batch. The facility is a production brewery capable of producing 2,500 barrels ("Brewer's Barrels" equaling 31 gallons each) annually, with all beer currently going out for distribution in and around the Kansas City area. A weekends-only on-site tasting room is in the works, where patrons can enjoy our beer next to the equipment that crafted it. We anticipate the brewery taproom to open in late 2015. In the meantime, our beer can be found all over town in area bars and restaurants.
