The Wonder Place

The Wonder Place is the creation of owners Julie Crouch and Cathleen McFarlin. After graduating from Hendrix College, the two opened the 5700 square foot facility in Breckenridge Village in July 2006.

Julie is a mother of two preschool children, and Cathleen is a Registered Dietician and worked as a nanny for almost 3 years. They found that Little Rock needed a safe, clean, and, most importantly, creative playspace for younger children and their caretakers. The two visited regional children's museums to gain a bit of inspiration. Then they began creating their own facility with the help of an experienced designer of early-childhood museums and playspaces. A focus group of local moms helped make important decisions about pricing, play experiences, birthday parties, and more. From start to finish, the ultimate aim has been to provide a meaningful play experience for children. Through creative and educational play, The Wonder Place nurtures the cognitive, emotional, and physical development of young children, and strengthens the connection between kids and their caretakers.
