History:
In January 2006, longtime Camp Hill resident and noted philanthropist, Grace Milliman Pollock, pledged $15 million to the Camp Hill School District through The Lion Foundation, to build a performing arts center at the site of Eisenhower Elementary School to benefit children and residents of Camp Hill. Thanks to the incredible generosity of Mrs. Pollock, the school district was able to attach the center to the new elementary school. All Camp Hill School District students, at some point in their school career, will have exposure to its state of the art training rooms and stage.
Throughout the next three years a design and approval process was implemented. Groundbreaking for the new building_2EisenhowerElementary School and the Grace Milliman Pollock Performing Arts Center took place in September 2009. Eisenhower Elementary School officially opened its doors to students in January 2011 and the Pollock Center opened in March 2011.
The Pollock Center is a unique teaching, learning and production facility attached to the reopened Eisenhower Elementary School. The facility includes a 500 seat theatre, a dance studio, green room, lobby, outdoor performance areas as well as training rooms for vocal music, instrumental music and visual and graphic arts.
During the day students in grades 3-5 use the facility and students in grades 6-12 use it beyond the school day to enhance their theatre, dance, music and art skills, as they practice, perform, present and exhibit within the center. This new center serves Camp Hill School District students, while also benefitting our community.
