About Us:

The Lumber Museum is located in north central Pennsylvania, on US Route 6, midway between the communities of Galeton and Coudersport, Potter County. The museum is set in the heart of the Susquehannock State Forest, where an abundance of State Parks, campgrounds, rental cabins and motels are available for an overnight stay. Forest trails and roads, streams and lakes and picnic grounds provide an excellent vacation choice for hiking, rafting, canoeing, hunting, fishing, bicycling, swimming and picnicking.

A membership in the Pennsylvania Lumber Museum Associates volunteer organization provides support to the museum as well as free admission to museum events and activities. Membership benefits also include our quarterly newsletter, Woodchips.

Activities at the Lumber Museum include tours, educational workshops and classes. During the July 7th and 8th, 2007, Bark Peelers' Convention, the work skills and leisure activities of Pennsylvania's turn-of-the-century lumberjacks are re-created through contests and demonstrations.
