About:

For 25 years the Dolly Steamboat has been operated by the Grimh Family. With Cindi managing office operations, advertising and marketing. Jeff is the Dolly’s senior Captain and manages boat operations and training. Margie Grimh is the matriarch but thoroughly enjoys her life in retirement. Of course our staff and crew members are what make it all possible. We all work very hard to offer a great cruising and dining experience “second to none”!

The Dolly Steamboat derived its namesake form the original owners Dolly and Paul Kennedy. They started tours in 1983. In Oct, 1987 Roger and Margie Grimh purchased the Dolly. Jeff and Cindi came on board shortly thereafter. We enjoy and take pride in providing a venue that allows people of all ages and abilities to experience the breathtaking scenery and wildlife of Canyon Lake.

Boating on Canyon Lake started on October 3rd, 1925. The S.S. Geronimo was thirty-five feet long and had a ten foot beam. It was powered with a thirty-five horsepower engine and could cruise at about fifteen miles per hour. It was capable of transporting fifty passengers with a crew of five. Today the Dolly carries 142 passengers with a crew of 3, 103’ long with a beam of 20’. It is powered by twin 225 HP John Deere marine diesel engines.

We promise to enhance your journey of spectacular Canyon Lake with outstanding service and genuine personal attention! On behalf of the Grimh family and the Dolly crew, thank you for cruising with us.
