Golf
Bringing together a diverse blend of tradition and talent, the Headwaters Club at Teton Springs Resort is destined to become a world-class golf destination in the Rocky Mountain West. Nationally recognized by numerous golf and leisure magazines, the resort’s courses were designed to complement the area’s natural terrain. Rolling fairways, well bunkered greens, and spring fed lakes teaming with native trout promise memorable rounds for all. It’s not just a round of golf at the Headwaters Club; it’s an experience! The Teton Springs Lodge & Spa, known for their golf resort packages, is located on the 18-hole Headwaters Golf Course. Headwaters also includes a 9-hole Par 3 course and a complete practice facility. Guests enjoying one of the many golf and hotel packages with accommodations in the lodge, or in one of the many luxury mountain log homes, are entitled to the many privileges and services normally reserved for the Club’s private members.
The Headwaters course was designed in a special collaboration by golf legend Byron Nelson, PGA touring pro Steve Jones and renowned golf course architect, Gary Stephenson. Exclusive to the Teton Valley, the resort is the area’s only hotel located on a golf course. The course features five dedicated tee markers measuring 5,500-7,500 yards in length, playable by golfers of all skill levels. Golf holiday packages at Teton Springs are therefore perfect for all ability levels, whether you’re a scratch golfer, or simply enjoying the company of your peers. Hotel golf packages include play on both of these Nelson designed courses.
Professional Guided Fly Fishing Trips
A fishing vacation to the Yellowstone region promises spectacular scenery coupled with accommodations in one of the west’s best fly fishing lodges. Teton Springs Lodge & Spa is situated in the absolute heart of fly fishing territory! Surrounded by some of the country’s premier rivers and the absolute best trout fishing in the Northern Rockies, fishing packages that include fly fishing on the infamous Teton River exemplifies Idaho Fishing.
This Blue Ribbon tributary originates on the west slope of the Teton Mountains, literally steps from Teton Springs Lodge & this waterway has long been considered a mecca for fly fishing. It’s truly a river that promises to hypnotize the experienced angler and captivate those anxious to embrace the sport. It’s home to rainbow trout, cutthroat trout and brook trout. The Teton River winds through the flat valley floor giving you unobstructed and spectacular views of the Teton Mountain range. Also, with every twist of the river you’ll see sand hill cranes in flight and the occasional moose out for an afternoon stroll.
Swimming at Teton Springs
In addition to the Stillwaters Spa, Teton Springs Lodge & Spa offers access to a full service private health club, as well as a 25 meter outdoor heated pool with large sunning deck, two hot tubs, kids Geyser Land, two tennis courts, and a full length basketball court.
The Fitness Center is outfitted with state-of-the-art strength training stations, free weights, and individual cardio training equipment including treadmills, elliptical trainers, and stationary bikes. In addition there is a 500 square foot room suitable for yoga, Pilates or aerobics.
All health & fitness facilities operate year-round except for the swimming center which opens Memorial Day and delights visitors of all ages through mid-September.
The pool at Teton Springs is part of the Sports Club Complex at the Headwaters Club, and is a private facility accessible to club members and lodging guests. The staff takes great pride in this facility and in offering a warm welcome to the resort’s lodging guests.
Jackson Hole Mountain Resort
Jackson Hole Mountain Resort is located 12 miles northwest of the infamous and authentic western town of Jackson, Wyoming. Jackson also serves as the gateway to Teton & Yellowstone National Parks. Jackson’s mountain is recognized world-wide as “The Big One” and with good reason! Located in Teton Village, a short scenic drive from Teton Springs Lodge & Spa, this mountain resort offers up two distinct mountains, Rendezvous and Apres Vous with over 4,139 vertical feet and 2,500 acres of the most distinct terrain filled with chutes, cliff bands and couloirs.
Winter visitors to Teton Springs often take the opportunity to visit Jackson Hole. With a scenic trip over Teton Pass, skiers & snowboarders find themselves at the infamous area, known formally as Jackson Hole Mountain Resort. It’s recognized for its vast terrain by skiing aficionados, not just in North America, but around the world. Jackson offers two distinct mountains, Rendezvous and Apres Vous.
Horseback Riding
Horseback Riding is a Great Way to Experience the Yellowstone
A visitor simply can’t visit the Yellowstone-Teton region without venturing off trail on the back of a horse! You don’t have to be a cowboy to enjoy the experience of saddling up and riding into the Teton or Big Hole Mountains where you’re guaranteed to see Mother Nature at her best.
A Horseback riding adventure is the optimum way for guests to participate in the authentic western experience, all while sampling some of the area’s most beautiful off-the-beaten-path mountain trails. Our Guests Services staff work with Teton Valley Outfitters, and will help with the arrangements. A guest favorite is the family owned & operated Linn Ranch. It’s only minutes from the resort; you and the wranglers will head into the Teton Mountains where the scent of fresh columbine greets you with each turn in the trail. Saddle up!
Mountain Biking
The buzz among mountain bikers continues to grow louder each year, not surprising given the impressive existing array of mountain bike trails in Teton Valley, Idaho. While visiting Teton Springs Lodge & Spa, one can simply step outside their lodge room or cabin, hop onto their bike for a leisure spin on the miles of paved roads within Teton Springs Resort.
It’s an optimum way to capture a bird’s eye view of the neighborhood. Not traveling with your own two-wheeler, not a problem! The Sports Complex at the Headwaters Club is just steps away and offers rental bikes for everyone in your party. In addition to bike rentals at Teton Springs, local shops in Victor & Driggs offer a full array of bike rentals, repairs and the latest biking gear. They’re also known for sharing their local knowledge with tips on favorite mountain trails.
For the more adventurous, venture into the adjacent Caribou-Targhee National Forest which envelops Teton Springs and use those knobby tires to explore a wide array of trails. Mountain bikers can also test their biking skills by trekking into the Big Hole Mountains on the west side of the valley. Terrain is limitless for the biking enthusiast as this area surrounding Teton Springs Resort boasts miles of rolling terrain and cross-county type trails and miles and miles of single-track.
The scenery is dramatic and watch out for wildlife; in this environment you’re likely to share the trails with neighboring elk, deer and moose. Don’t forget the camera!
Snowmobiling
Fight winter doldrums – take an exhilarating snowmobile ride! Taking a sled into the backcountry will lift anyone’s spirits and is yet another novel & fun way to view wildlife in their winter environment while also enjoying spectacular scenery. In keeping with Teton Valley’s reputation as the recreation capitol of the west, snowmobiling also gets top billing!
Hot Air Ballooning
You say you want the ultimate up close and personal view of the Teton Mountains? Well, take a hot air balloon ride! You’ll revel in man’s oldest form of travel once you hop aboard a nine story balloon and take in Teton Valley’s sights and sounds from far above the valley floor.
The silence is almost deafening as a gentle wind carries you over the mountains, rivers and wide-open spaces that this breathtaking landscape is famous for. You’ll also view wilderness areas impossible to experience any other way in this most unique, romantic and adventurous form of flight.
