History:

Teaneck New Theatre (TNT) was founded in 1986 by Brian Billick, Kevin Shinneck and Alan Lauderdale, among others. During its first two seasons TNT was housed in St. Mark's Church in Teaneck, where it produced such shows as "Tom Foolery," "The Dresser" and "The Glass Menagerie."

From the mid 1980s until 2005 TNT's home was Bogart Memorial Church in Bogota. Beginning in 2005 TNT has staged its productions at The Hackensack Cultural Arts Center (HCAC), a former church converted to a charming, comfortable theater. In addition, we have returned to St. Mark's for our business meetings with plans of holding future auditions and rehearsals at our original residence.

TNT, a non-profit organization, has always prided itself on staging quality productions of both commercial and non-commercial works. The theatre group's mandate is to give actors, directors and production staff an opportunity to hone their craft by working on outstanding plays. To that end, TNT has been one of the few community theatres to tackle such classics as "Amadeus" and "Lion in Winter."

The goal of TNT actors, directors and backstage staff -- which includes professionals, former professionals, would-be professionals and talented amateurs -- is to present accomplished productions so that audiences will be glad they came...and will want to return. To that end, TNT continues to stage a diverse range of plays at affordable prices. For example, the 2005 four-show slate: an enchanting musical ("The Fantasticks"), an absorbing murder mystery ("Night Watch"), a powerful drama (Arthur's Miller's "All My Sons"), a zany comedy ("Breaking Legs").
