History:

The Tahoe Maritime Museum stimulates interest in, increases knowledge of, and maintains watercraft and marine artifacts significant in Lake Tahoe's maritime history through the highest standards of historic preservation, innovative interpretation and public education.

The Museum was founded in August 1988. Our vision is to make the Tahoe Maritime Museum a world-recognized organization. With the recent acquisition of a permanent location, the Tahoe Maritime Museum is able to showcase the rich boating history of Lake Tahoe.

We are also committed to building a permanent collection that is representative of the best boats, engines, and artifacts in the world. Finally, we are committed that our Museum provides an interactive, educational experience for its members, for the community of the Tahoe Basin, and all those interested in maritime history.
