About:
Bill and Pat began as home brewers in 2001. Our name Stumblefoot is a personification of the path we have traveled as home brewers. It pays tribute to the failures as well as the successes. As we eventually became prepared to start our commercial adventure, we stumbled upon many fortunate and even lucky opportunities - but the application of all this great information is in the making and sharing and critiquing our beers with fellow enthusiasts and judges alike.
Being part of the local brewing community has been a great way to learn and share information and fortunately we have lots of enthusiastic friends willing to sample our beers. We are members of some of San Diego's home brewing clubs, starting back with the Society of Barley Engineers when they met at the old Stone Brewery - which is now Lost Abbey. QUAFF brewing club, San Diego's largest brewing club and North County Home Brewers Association and lately we have been hanging out with Mash Heads Brew Club - Each of these clubs have their own personalities and lots of good people with great resources to the home brewing community.
The rest of the team: My wife Johanne is our web developer and helps me with all things back office. But there are four of us guys, the other two are Zac Horton and Steve Mayer who is also a home brewer. Zac is Pat's son and our MacGyver. He is a cabinet maker by trade and is the builder of the bar and many other items and Zac is the chief cellarman. Steve is our tasting room manager and sales and marketing guy, he keeps me looking long term. We are all involved in the brewing process.
Lots of good things are under way as the project takes shape. We are looking forward to having our friends and neighbors and any well wishers come around for a taste and a tour.
