About:
Kim and Roger Stokes planted their first Blueberry field in 1978. It was quite a gamble at the time, but with dedication, hard work and lots of prayers, their small business soon began to thrive. While both worked full-time jobs, they dedicated all of their spare time to sticking cuttings in their hand-made greenhouse, selling plants and picking berries.
Now, they own more than 600 acres of blueberries. Along with a frozen-packing plant, fresh-pack plant and nursery. They buy and sell for dozens of local growers.
Roger and Kim’s love for farming and community inspired them to add on the Farm Market in 2011. They now own more than 60 acres of strawberries, apples, asparagus, pumpkins and many other fruits and vegetables. All the crops are sold fresh in Stokes Homestead Farm Market.
Roger and Kim have three children; Jamie Stokes-Glowacki, Megan Stokes-Romano and Seth Stokes. All three are involved on the farm in one way or another. They have two son-in-laws, Nick Romano & Jeremy Glowacki and three grandchildren Isabella, Jeramiah and the newest addition to the family baby Sofia. If you come out to visit on any given day, chances are you will most likely meet the whole family! The Stokes are truly a family farm, employing as many family members and friends as possible!
