Spring Meadow Lake State Park is located on the western edge of Helena. It is an urban day-use park and is a popular spot for family afternoons of swimming, sunbathing, fishing, birdwatching, and having fun.
The park features new picnic shelters and a group use shelter.
In addition to the water and beach area, the park offers an .8 mile, self-guided nature trail that circles the lake.
There is no lifeguard on duty at Spring Meadow State Park. Visitors swim at their own risk.
The park is home to a variety of birds, turtles and other wildlife and trout, bass and sunfish have been introduced into its waters. There is a fishing ramp that is ADA accessible.
In winter, you can stroll along the trail and if it's cold enough, ice-skate on the lake. Special events are held periodically during the year.
