Sottomarino Winery

400 California Avenue
San Francisco, CA 94101

It started as a dream to make great authentic Italian wines In San Francisco. Inspired by David Frazier, who had worked in a neighboring winery on Treasure Island, Sottomarino was concieved by the history of the island and it's link to the formal Naval Base on the island. In working with the Treasure Island Museum researching the history of the island, David uncovered a Damage Control Wet Trainer which was commonly referred to as the USS Buttercup. In keeping with the history, the historic building and it's markings were kept intact to create one of the most unique wine tasting rooms -- forming Sottomarino Winery.
