Great wines, like people, build character overcoming tough challenges. Vineyards spring from rocky soils splashed by hot sun. Hence the name Sol Stone; it celebrates hardiness, and rewards it. A portion of Sol Stone sales is donated to organizations that help people prevail over adversity The WAVE Foundation benefiting domestic violence organizations and Guide Dogs for the Blind.

Boyd and Karen Buckingham started Sol Stone to blend these passions of winemaking and giving. After 7 years of making premium wines with good friends from Rock Meadow Cellars, Sol Stone was formed in 2011 in Sammamish, Washington.

Cheryl Barber Jones provides consultation to many local wineries achieving excellent results due to her vast enological experience. Sol Stone is making premium wines with grapes from some of the best vineyards in Washington State such as Elerding; Seven Hills; Conner Lee; Chandler's Reach; Sagemoor; Springcreek and Upland Estates Vineyards.

We like to think of Sol Stone as spirits for the spirit. Enjoy!
