Sodalis Nature Park, is 210 acres of beautiful, mature woodlands and reforestation area, which serves as home to an abundant array of native Indiana wildlife. The park exists within a permanently protected conservation area established to protect the endangered Indiana bat (Myotis sodalis). This park was made possible due to a collaborative agreement between Hendricks County Parks and Recreation, the Indianapolis Airport Authority and the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service. Situating a park in the midst of a habitat of an endangered species is a unique opportunity and has been made possible through the tremendous community spirit of each agency involved.

Sodalis Nature Park has 3.5 miles of nature trails, picnic areas, nature programs, a 5.5 acre fishing pond, wildlife viewng platform and available pavilion rentals. This project is in partnership with the Indiana State University Center for Bat Research, Outreach and Conservation.
