About Us
Housed in a 6,000 sq. ft. barn in the beautiful and scenic town of Fredon, New Jersey, USA, the Snowmobile Barn Museum traces over 90 years of snowmobiling history with a rare and magnificent collection of over 130 sleds and thousands of assorted collectible items such as toys, ornaments, jewelry, advertisements, and much more.
Owner of the extensive private collection, Dan Klemm of Stillwater, and self-professed ‘Snowmobile King’ is proud of his collection. The entire collection numbers over 400 unique sleds. Many of the sleds on display are one of a kind snow machines such as a wooden replica of a 1924 Eliason motorized toboggan, which up until a month ago was used in the house as a coffee table!
Visitors to the museum will also find other unusual and cool machines that include a Bombardier B12. This 1951, 12-passenger tracked vehicle was created by Armand Bombardier to be used in the Canadian countryside as a school bus and/or emergency vehicle in the dead of winter. Other unusual tracked snow machines are the Play Cat and Ridge Runner which can be driven over the snow and in the water.
Visitors will enjoy a scenic ride through the countryside before arriving at the museum. Once there, other family attractions are feeding the farm animals that include pygmy goats, sheep, a llama, emus, rabbits, guinea hens, chickens and "Frick" the duck. Bring your bicycle and ride the adjacent Paulinskill Valley Trail, pack a picnic lunch or just relax and enjoy a day in the country.
