Mission Statement:
"To Create, to Preserve, and to Support"
To foster the creation, understanding, appreciation and enjoyment of the visual and performing arts through theater presentations, musical performances, exhibitions and workshops designed to facilitate these objectives.
To operate, maintain and endow our multi-purpose facilities in accordance with the highest professional standards for both the audience and the performing arts.
To serve as a center for cultural activities in the western Nebraska area. Here the exhibitions, performances, art sales, workshops and special events will help support this mission. The Center will create, obtain and maintain a Permanent Collection of art and historical objects reflective of the importance and purpose of The Center.
To restore the historical building that houses The Center. Built in 1918, this neo classical structure typifies the traditional values of America's heartland and stands as a monument to its rich history. The Center will restore, re-create, and maintain the art and architecture of the old church by sponsoring a master/ apprentice program that will teach art craftsmanship - passing on skills of living masters to future generations of artists.
To broaden the base of understanding, appreciation and support for the arts through meaningful education initiatives and community partnerships. Our commitment to the community effort to revitalize the historic downtown Sidney area is fundamental. We will promote a vibrant arts district and invite artists, performers, studios and galleries to become a part our local community.
To nurture the development of the artistic partners who make The Center their performance base. We will form a bond of co-operation and support all art endeavors in our region.
