Highlighting New Orleans

About Us:

Our name is derived from the uniquely New Orleans tradition of second line parades.  These parades can trace their origins to jazz funeral customs that began over 100 years ago.

The second line parade tradition has grown over the years - now they are held to bring joy to almost any occasion.  Regardless of the event, second line parades remain an unbridled expression of fun and celebration that is uniquely New Orleans.

For us, opening a brewery is as much about celebrating the art of brewing and great beer as it is a celebration of the people, culture and history of Louisiana.  Along the way we look forward to having a great deal of fun, making new friends and helping to grow craft beer in our community.

Speaking of community, Second Line Brewing is proud to call the Mid-City neighborhood of New Orleans home.  As the name suggests, Mid-City is in the heart of New Orleans and there is no other place we would rather be.

Once swampland, Mid-City was drained and inhabited thanks to a young engineer from Tulane University by the name of Albert Baldwin Wood.

Second Line Brewing invites you to come enjoy the wonderful sights and sounds of our neighborhood. Join us for a tour of the brewery and a tasty pint.  Cheers!
