Rosemary lives on the Big Island of Hawaii. She enjoys the sea, flowers, and the Hawaiian people. She loves to paint seascapes of local scenes, and all types of flowers. Her husband, Frank, is a landscaper so he gives her all kinds of subject matter. Rosemary is famous for her pastels. Her latest medium, however, is collage of watercolor paint and Japanese rice paper. Her paintings are vibrant and expressive of beautiful Hawaii. Before coming to the Big Island, Key Biscayne, Florida was her home. She studied art and was awarded many prizes in shows for her beautiful art work.
Rosemary has a University degree in Art History. She did graduate work in Art History at George Washington University and worked as a docent at the National Gallery of Art in Washington D.C. She has also studied painting at American University and the Metropolitan Museum of Art. She has taken art workshops with many nationally recognized teachers.
Rosemary says of her artwork, “I consider my work to be somewhat impressionistic yet realistic. At the same time, I want to show my emotions toward the wonderful world we live in. I am passionate about the ocean, flowers, and the gorgeous Hawaiian foliage we have here. The shapes and colors excited me. I love the Hawaiian people and I feel their closeness to nature, their reverence for the Earth itself. I want my work to express to you all the beauty of the Earth ‘God’s wonderful creation’”.
Rosemary is an international artist. Her works have found homes throughout the world including Germany, India, Italy and South America. In Hawaii her works are in private homes including in Hualalai Four Seasons Resort and Holualoa Estates.
Corporately her works are in the collection and exhibited in three hotels, two of which are the Mauna Lani Bay Hotel and Villas and the Orchid Fairmont hotel in Waikaloa.
