History:

Construction of the 1.75 mile long stretch of the Redbud Trail from 159th Street to the 13th Street Sports Park is complete! The project consisted of minor grading, and concrete surfacing of a 10 foot wide bicycle/pedestrian path on the former BNSF railroad line from 159th St. East to the Andover 13th St. Sports Park. The project was administered by the Kansas Department of Transportation. Poe and Associates Consulting Engineers was the project representatives on site. The contractor for the project was Bryant and Bryant Construction Co. A ribbon cutting and inaugural bicycle ride/run/walk took place Thursday, July 16, 2015.
