Quinney Estate Winery

North 3332 Cth 55
Chilton, WI 53014

About:

Quinney Estate Winery is a family owned vineyard and winery run by Ed and Sharon Rink along with their four children.  The first grape trials were planted in 2000, with over 20 varieties before settling on a select few.At Quinney Estate Winery we only bottle wine from the grapes we grow in the belief that great wine begins in the vineyard and freshness is key. The definition of "estate bottled" means that the winery listed on the label owns or controls 100 percent of the grapes that went into the bottle, and the wine was crushed, fermented, finished, aged and bottled all int eh same place and that place has to be located in the same viticultural area that's stated on the label (Dr. Vinny, Wine Spectator Magazine).

Quinney Estate Winery is located in the Wisconsin Ledge American Viticultural Area (AVA) which is recognized by the federal government as a unique wine growing region.  Our wine is fermented, produced and stored in only stainless steel, Wisconsin or Minnesota oak barrels; and glass containers.   We make the wine in small batches with minimal intervention to try and keep the process as natural as possible and as a result all of our wines may have some sediment.  This does not affect the wine flavor, just the appearance. Ed has been making wine for the past 15 years and is on the board of directors of the The Wisconsin Grape Growers Association since 2000.   He prepared the land, designed our buildings and finished the buildings by himself.
