Loblolly pines and stately magnolia trees, rolling hills, spectacular seasonal flowers, and a year-round mild climate await visitors to Percy Quin State Park. One of the original state parks cleared and constructed by the Civilian Conservation Corps in the 1930s, Percy Quin is today a delightful blend of the old and new. Located just one and a half hours from New Orleans, Percy Quin State Park provides a colorful natural backdrop for a variety of outdoor activities.
Stay the Night
There are several options available when it comes to staying overnight. The park offers 100 RV campsites, 27 cabins, 4 cottages, 2 golf villas, 9 motel rooms, and a group camp facility. These facilities are located in wooded areas with views of Lake Tangipahoa.
Things to Do
A variety of activities and facilities are available at Percy Quin State Park. Facilities for use include: picnic tables and grills, picnic pavilions, playgrounds, swimming pool, tennis courts, game room, conference center, chapel, marina, and an 18 hole golf course. Boating is available on Lake Tangipahoa.
Day use Area
Picnic Area
The picnic area has open areas for field play and wooded areas for shade. Individual picnic tables with barbecue grills are available for use on a first come first serve basis. Comfort stations are located in the area. In addition, four picnic pavilions with tables are available for rental.
Picnic Pavilion #1 is a large brick pavilion set on a hill overlooking Lake Tangipahoa. The pavilion was constructed during the CCC era and contains a fireplace, barbecue pit, food prep area, service counter, picnic tables, and restrooms.
Picnic Pavilion #2, and #3 are wooden structures with water and electricity available. Pavilions #2 and #3 are located in the playground area.
Pavilion #4 is a wood structure with electricity but no water. Pavilion #4 is located across from the Visitor's Center.
Playground
A playground with a slide, climbing structures, and swings is located near one of the comfort stations.
Swimming Pool
A junior olympic-size pool is located across from Pavilion One. The pool house has concessions, restrooms, and shower facilities. The pool is operated seasonally Thursday through Sunday from 10:00 am until 5:00 pm. No lifeguards are on duty. Swim at your own risk.
There is a nominal fee charged for Children ages 3 - 12 and Adults 13 years of age and older. Arm bands are required. Children 16 years and under must be accompanied by parent or adult guardian.
Tennis Courts
There are five lighted tennis courts available for play.
Fishing and Boating
Lake Tangipahoa is a 490 acre fresh water lake. The lake features a marina, boat launch, and water skiing. A restroom and fish cleaning station is located near the boat launch. In 2014, the lake was stocked with Florida Bass, Bluegill, Redear Sunfish, and White Crappie.
Water Skiing
Water and jet skiing is permitted in Lake Tangipahoa.
Boat Launch
A boat launch is available on Lake Tangipahoa for a nominal fee. Daily or annual permits are available.
Marina
A covered marina with 36 boat slips is located near the boat launch. The marina is lighted with electrical hook-ups available at slips. Boat slips are available for monthly or yearly rental.
Quail Hollow Golf Course
A Premier Golf Experience is located at beautiful Percy Quin State Park. Quail Hollow is 6,700 yards of championship golf that never plays the same way twice. With rolling terrain, a variety of signature holes, and undulating greens, Quail Hollow offers the ultimate challenge for golfers of every skill level.
The course utilizes natural terrain to create spectacular holes in harmony with the beautiful Southern Mississippi countryside. The 18-hole Championship Course at Quail Hollow Golf Course in McComb, MS is a public golf course that opened in 1996. Designed by Arthur Hills, Championship Course at Quail Hollow Golf Course measures 6754 yards from the longest tees and has a slope rating of 121 and a 72 USGA rating. Greens are mini-verde ultradwarf and fairways are 419 tifdwarf grass.
