About Us

Pennsylvania Centre Stage is celebrating its 22nd year of professional theatre! During that time, Pennsylvania Centre Stage audiences have enjoyed such high caliber productions as Evita, Broadway Bound, The Taffetas, Fences, Death of a Salesman, The Foreigner, Man of La Mancha, Cabaret, and Art to name a few. Such performances would not be available without the best professional designers, choreographers, directors, actors, technicians, and stage managers from around the country.

As the professional arm of the Penn State School of Theatre, Pennsylvania Centre Stage is the mentoring program for young theatre professionals embarking in the theatre business. One of Centre Stage's essential attributes is that it combines professionals with theatre students from Penn State and other colleges and universities. Each production is produced from conception to completion at Penn State using skills mastered and taught by theatre faculty. As a result, Penn State School of Theatre is one of the top ten ranked universities in the country. Every facet of theatre is studied in detail to the final curtain call.

Since 1920 Penn State has been producing live theatre on it's campus, a tradition in which Pennsylvania Centre Stage is a proud part. As the only professional theatre in the Centre Region, Pennsylvania Centre Stage offers a rewarding theatre experience. Our President and Board of Directors (457 Kb .pdf) ensure that Pennsylvania Centre Stage continues to live up to the expectations set 22 years ago.
