Active Recreation
The park has three lighted tennis courts, seven multi-purpose fields (soccer, football, softball, baseball,) volleyball courts, a basketball court, mountain bike trails and a disc golf course. Disc golf is a popular pastime for visitors; the course can be accessed at all three entrances. The park also has a popular playground.
Ivy Creek Greenway
The Ivy Creek Greenway, which runs parallel to Ivy Creek as it flows through the center of the park, is a paved, ADA compliant trail. Additional walking trails are found throughout the park, accessed from the Ardmore and Tenbury Drive entrance. These paved walking trails provide an opportunity to explore the park, with the sounds of more active recreation and nearby Ivy Creek as a pleasant backdrop. The popular exercise course is not a loop trail, but can be accessed from either entrance to the park.
Mountain Bike Trails
Mountain Bike Trails are found in the Bill Foot Recreational Area near the Ardmore Drive and Tenbury Drive entrances. The recreational area is named in memory of local trails champion, Bill Foot. Volunteers from the Greater Lynchburg Off-Road Cyclists help to plan, maintain and improve the trails. Trails are suitable for beginner, intermediate and expert riders, so be sure to choose a trail appropriate for your skill level.
