Palisades: Forest View Trail

Trailhead on the summit is on the east side of U.S. Route 9W in Alpine, about 2.5 mi. north of Closter Dock Road. The trail crosses a pedestrian bridge over the Palisades Interstate Parkway, then overlaps the Long Path north about 0.5 mi. to the Women’s Federation Monument and down a steep ravine. After it branches east from the Long Path, the Forest View Trail steeply descends through a series of switchbacks to its junction with the Shore Trail, about 3 mi. north of Alpine Picnic Area & Boat Basin. (Very steep: elevation 500 ft.)
