History
Oxford Skating Club was established under the United States Figure Skating Association (USFS) in 1980. The home ice was at the original Goggin Ice Arena at Miami University. (Built 1976 and retired in 2006.) The main founders were comprised of local parents, one of the most prominent being the long-time Miami Synchronized Skating coach, Vicky Korn. OSC has had a long history of competitive ice skating, mostly focused on synchronized skating, however the club has had it's range of very successful freestylists as well.
OSC has had synchronized skating teams (or before 1999, 'precision' skating teams) that performed for ice shows and exhibitions since the early 1990's. In 1992, OSC established a competitive precision skating track with USFS, and the rest is history. Since that time, the Oxford Ice Crystals Synchronized Skating Teams have participated in, and earned decent finishes, in regional and national competitions. Below is a timeline of successes throughout OSC's history.
