About Us:
The North Dakota Cowboy Hall of Fame (NDCHF) strives to preserve the history and promote the culture of North Dakota’s Native American, ranching and rodeo communities by informing and educating people of all nations and cultures about the state’s rich and colorful western heritage.
The character and legacy of the American West comes to life inside the organization’s gold buckle facility, the North Dakota Cowboy Hall of Fame – Center of Western Heritage & Cultures: Native American, Ranching and Rodeo located in Medora, North Dakota. The 15,000-square foot interpretive center features permanent and traveling western culture exhibits, a Hall of Honorees, a theater, a gift shop, archives, multi-purpose meeting space and a 5,000-square foot open-air patio.
The 501(c)(3) organization is governed by a board of directors and led by an executive director. The NDCHF’s vision is for people from all walks of life to understand and appreciate North Dakota’s rodeo, ranching and Native American cultures.
The Cowboy Chronicle is the official publication of the NDCHF published and distributed to membership three times annually. It is a staple for western history and contemporary cowboy events.
Mount up and ride on in as we host several events and activities at the Center of Western Heritage & Cultures such as the National Day of the Cowboy, the Day of the Great Plains Horse People, Old-Fashioned Cowboy Christmas and more. Or, ride alongside us as we periodically hit the trail with special outreach programs.
